Icacos Island is one of the string of Islands off the north east tip of Puerto Rico which form the Cordillera Keys Nature Reserve. 'Diablo', 'Lobos', 'Ratones' and 'Icacos' Islands and many large rocks such as 'Cucaracha'. They are administered by the Dept. of Natural Resources of Puerto Rico.

SNOKELING AROUND ICACOS ISLAND - BEACH & OFFSHORE REEFS

Trips are $400 - 4 hours 2 to 4 pers. A motorboat snorkeling tour up to 4 persons - additional person $50. Includes Captain, snorkeling guide, water and sandwiches. ( Guide can instruct beginners) Stop on the way to the boat and rent gear if needed: $12. pp gear rental.

ALL Trip destinations are based on weather conditions and the currents.

It is so beautiful on this island and the swimming is great. Good hiking too! Lots of sun, wear protective clothing. Want to see more? Reefs off of Lobos Icacos and Palomino keys are some possible destinations. Visit some amazing reefs by motorboat. This is within the Cordillera Reserve and subject to weather conditions.

Icacos Island is big enough so that you cannot walk around it easily. The ocean side is rough and rocky with waves breaking over the rocks and the leeward side is very calm and lovely. Beach exploring is great for anyone who doesn't want to spend much time in the water.

• Little Whale Key. Experienced snorkelers and want to try something very different and exciting: Weather permitting only. The snorkeling and motorboat trip up to Little Whale Key is for experienced snorkelers only and the price is an additional $100.

FAJARDO: SNORKELING WITH PRIVATE INSTRUCTOR:

Maximum 2 people per instructor. Snorkeling off the shore. $87 PP includes gear. We meet in Fajardo and drive to a lovely beach where we walk to a deserted spot with ideal conditions for learning to snorkel. Shallow, calm water. If you easily become comfortable we walk a little more to an offshore reef.
